Lake Rim Boating and Fishing is a lake pier in Fayetteville where you can boat and fish. Located near the lake is the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center. The lake has Largemouth Bass, Catfish, and Sunfish. (Remember, a state fishing license is required in North Carolina to fish in public waters.) Motors are not allowed on the lake. Canoes and kayaks are allowed. Lake Rim Boating and Fishing is a great place to relax outside. 

Gillis Hill Farm and Produce is a ninth-generation family-owned farm in Fayetteville. Visitors can walk the property and see the restored farm buildings. Gillis Hill Farm has a children’s sand play area. They have animals including chickens, rabbits, goats, and cows that you can feed. The farm sells delicious homemade ice cream, and it was named best local ice cream by The Fayetteville Observer. During the fall, they have a corn maze. They are closed on Sundays. Freedom Town Center is a convenient shopping mall in Fayetteville. You can find whatever you want from the nearly 40 restaurants and retail stores. The mall has Dick’s Sporting Goods, Field & Stream, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Sprouts Farmers Market, Burkes Outlet, Petco, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, BuyBuy Baby, World Market, Five Below, Osh Kosh, and Escapology Escape Rooms. There is also a variety of restaurants such as Five Guys, Salsarita’s, Jason’s Deli, and First Watch at Freedom Town Center.
